Providence Health is Hiring a Clinical Assistant Near Orange, CA

Description

The Genetics Clinic Assistant (GA) provides basic clinical support to patients under the care and supervision of the genetics managers, supervisors, and other licensed personnel. The GA may obtain consent, provide video education, document personal and family medical history, and collect biological sample for genetic testing with oversight of a licensed genetics counselor/provider. The GA may also prepare paperwork, utilize cloud-based and other applications, create encounter documentation in electronic medical record, and enter data into the program database. S/he may provide case review, support queries, and perform other patient preparation and follow-up tasks as needed.

Required qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biological/Health Sciences or equivalent education/experience.
  • Coursework/Training: Genetics Assistant Certificate or equivalent education/experience.
  • Coursework/Training: Venipuncture, Phlebotomy
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with medical terminology
